Abraham Lincoln High School defeated Brooklyn rival Thomas Jefferson 87-65 in their final regular season game of the year.
Lincoln entered the game ranked 26th in the DigitalSports National Basketball Rankings and 2nd in New York.
The Railsplitters’ high-speed offense dominated Jefferson in transition. Their quickness got Lincoln off to a big start early on, leading them to a 39-23 lead by the half.
Jefferson battled back, getting the game to as close to eight points in the fourth quarter. After regrouping, Lincoln found its rhythm again, putting the game out of reach.
Lincoln’s offensive power came from Isaiah Whitehead and Desi Rodriguez. Whitehead, who has been selected to the McDonald’s All-American Game, led all players with 32 points. Rodriguez added on 17 points, while snagging 12 rebounds.
This victory advances Lincoln to 17-0 within Brooklyn “AA,” looking to defend their title as city champions.
